Blended Leather

Such quality and scent at a fantastic price point!

This was one of two fragrances I bought from La Ree (again, thank you for getting my order to me during awful winter weather), and honestly, my biggest problem with this is calling it a "dupe". I feel like it cheapens the experience of this fragrance without justification. Yes, Tom Ford may have created the original DNA, but if La Ree can play on that formula with this much skill, I see no reason to relegate their work to the dupe/knockoff industry.

This is really as similar to TF Ombre Leather as one can get, but to me, it also goes even a little further. Please, if you get this, let it macerate as La Ree recommends, but furthermore, don't trust what you smell on a test paper or collected on the atomizer. Let this play on your skin and you will see it truly blossom. I say this, because on test paper, the leather was photorealistic and remarkable, but I found the fragrance a bit cloying. Spraying on my skin revealed a whole different world.

This shares quite a few notes with Dior's legendary Fahrenheit EDT, and it shows - on my skin, the cloying sweetness faded and I was left with something wonderful. Unisex florals, earthy spiciness from patchouli (one of my favorite notes), and a leather smell that is rugged, rather than synthetic. You know the smell of a brand new car with leather seats? This is NOT that. This is my father's leather jacket that he's worn to church every Sunday for 40 years. It's badass, it's a masculine classic reinvented for the modern age, and it deserves more respect than the word "dupe" could ever grant. I wore this last night under a vintage rollneck sweater, and when I picked the sweater up this morning to smell it again, it was like a gentle handshake from a wise man I once aspired to be. Maybe I've become him? This fragrance is getting me closer.

I love this fragrance, its leather but sweet in a way. I receive compliments every single time I wear this. It lasts & projects. I will always buy this. If looking for a harder leather try their Italian Leather, its great to but I prefer this one
